NAATI — National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters

NAATI is an Australian government-supported body that sets the standards for the translation and interpreting profession in Australia. A NAATI credential is the official mark of quality and trust in language services.

Why NAATI Matters

  • NAATI is Australia's only national standards and accreditation body for translators and interpreters.

  • NAATI credentials are the recognised standard for professional language services across Australia.

  • NAATI certified translations are accepted by all Australian government agencies, including the Department of Home Affairs.

  • NAATI credentialed practitioners must meet strict educational, ethical, and professional standards.

  • Certification is renewed regularly to ensure ongoing competency and professional development.

Do I Need a NAATI Certified Translation?

If you are submitting documents to any Australian government agency — including the Department of Home Affairs, courts, universities, or hospitals — you will almost certainly need a NAATI certified translation. Using an uncertified translation may result in rejection of your application.

Stella Tulloch is a NAATI Certified Translator and Interpreter for the Thai–English language pair. Her translations are accepted by all Australian government departments and agencies.
